The disturbing footage was captured by Turkish coats guards and later shows the raft half sunk in the middle of the sea
A Greek coastguard has been accused of trying to sink an inflatable dinghy packed with Syrian migrants in the Aegean sea.

Video released by the Turkish Institute of Public Diplomacy shows a man on board a ship bearing the Greek coast guard livery seemingly trying to puncture the life raft as it floats alongside the vessel using a pole.

The boat is later seen half-sunk with people on board desperately waving for help from Turkish Coast guards.

The video was shot by the Turkish coast guard on November 12, according to Reuters, and is believed to have been seen by the head of the Greek coast guard, Vice Admiral Athanasios Athanasopoulos.
There were 58 Syrian migrants on board the raft including children, Turkish media reported.

About 650,000 refugees and migrants fleeing war and poverty have made the treacherous journey to Greece by sea, and thousands have drowned making the attempt.

Greek authorities were not immediately available for comment, Reuters said.
